Founded by Gillian, Shadow Oak Equine Naturopathy was created from a genuine passion for helping horses achieve better health, improved wellbeing, and long-term balance through nutrition, herbal medicine, and natural feeding principles.
Rather than relying solely on medications that may act as a temporary solution, Gillian focuses on identifying underlying imbalances and supporting the body naturally. By addressing core health issues, horses are given the opportunity to heal, thrive, and perform at their best.
Whether supporting performance horses, aged horses, or those experiencing ongoing health challenges, Gillian works with each horse as an individual, providing personalised care tailored to their unique needs.
What to expect
Once you have selected and purchased your consultation, you will receive a client intake form to complete prior to your appointment.
During your consultation, we will review your horse’s history, diet, management, and current concerns to develop a personalised plan tailored to your horse’s individual needs.
Following your consultation, you will receive a detailed Client Summary & Action Plan, including:
• Current diet review
• Personalised feeding recommendations
• Herbal support where required
• Clear explanations and practical next steps
Where herbal prescriptions are recommended, full instructions will be provided to ensure safe and effective use.

• Herbal prescriptions and supplements are an additional cost
• Herbal blends are made using practitioner-grade, human-quality extracts
• Most cases are supported over a full blood cycle (approximately 12 weeks) to allow for meaningful and lasting results
• Consistency and correct implementation are key to achieving the best outcomes
Working alongside veterinary care
Shadow Oak Equine Naturopathy provides complementary support designed to work alongside veterinary care where required.
If your horse is acutely unwell, injured, or showing signs of pain or rapid deterioration, a veterinarian should always be contacted promptly.
These services do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
